RADIO GURU GABE HOBBS LAUNCHES TALENT MANAGEMENT AND MEDIA INNOVATIONS COMPANY
LOS ANGELES, September 8, 2009 – Gabe Hobbs’ passion for working with radio talent is evident – he helped launch talk radio stars Glenn Beck, Lionel and Brian James, to name a few. With his drive to discover, nurture, and re-invent talent, the 35-year radio veteran today launches Gabe Hobbs Media, a talent management and media innovations company. Representing clients such as CBS Radio, KFWB News Talk 980/Los Angeles, The Dave Ramsey Show, The Schnitt Show, Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Club and Road Kill Creative, among others, the Tampa, Florida based company offers a myriad of talent and media management services including corporate consulting, coaching, content and clock evaluation, content development and distribution, SWAT analysis, and mentoring.

Hobbs started out in music radio, programming contemporary hit radio, rock, and adult contemporary stations. In 1989 at Jacor Communications, he added news/talk/sports stations to his responsibilities while managing the southeast region. From 1998 through 2008, Hobbs oversaw the programming of Clear Channel Radio’s 275 news/talk/sports stations. In addition, he served as the in-house consultant for Premiere Radio Networks, the company’s syndication division, where he was involved with such shows as The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Glenn Beck Program, Trumped with Donald Trump, Costas on the Radio with Bob Costas, The Sean Hannity Show, and The Dr. Laura Program. In 2000, he was instrumental in launching the company’s Fox Sports Radio and advising the network for eight years.
Hobbs has been named one of the top 10 corporate radio programmers in America by Radio Ink Magazine. His industry peers named him as Radio and Records Magazine’s “News/Talk Executive of the Year” in 2003, 2007, 2008 and 2009. In addition, he served on the Associated Press Board of Advisors from 2000 to 2008.
