NewsTalkers Prepare for Trump

Published:
November 10, 2016

One day after Republican Donald Trump’s unexpected win in the presidential election, conservative talk radio found itself in an unexpected position—as victors. For the first time in eight years, the party conservative radio typically aligns with is also set to control both branches of elected government. Given Trump’s campaign, it could prove to be a challenging landscape.

The Talk about Talk Radio - Forecast 2017

October 18, 2016

News/Talk radio is a delicate dance with lots of spins. How do you encourage the conversation and positions that drive ratings and buzz without offending skittish advertisers? How do you placate an angry sponsor without antagonizing your core audience? Even more important, how do you prove that water-cooler discussion translates into actual listeners when the measurement methodology is not designed for your format?

WORD OF MOUTH – STILL A THING

Long before “schlonged,” before the idea of a blockade on Muslim immigration, Donald Trump stood in the skyscraper that bears his name and bemoaned that Mexico was “not sending its best” people across the Southern border.

Congratulations to client Todd Schnitt - #12 on the 2015 Heavy Hundred List!!

Published:
March 31, 2015

What a year for Todd. He takes the helm of the WOR/New York morning show beside Len Berman AND he moves up to #12 on the Heavy Hundred list of talk show hosts published each year by Michael Harrison and Talkers Magazine. Todd made his debut on the Heavy Hundred list in 2010 at #77. He is perhaps the ONLY host with the kind of momentum that caused him to move up on the list every single year.

His afternoon syndicated show has landed Todd in that slot since he hadn't really started on WOR. If your station is looking for a GREAT syndicated talk show, then Todd is definitely something you should check out. The entertainment factors AND the lower demographic appeal are just what talk radio needs.

What's Old Is New Again

In last week’s NTS MediaOnline Weekly we heard from a panel of industry thinkers about the current and near-future state of Talk radio, and whether or not the numerous reports of the medium’s imminent demise are exaggerated. And while none suggested that apathy in the face of a changing and challenging media world is a good plan, neither is succumbing to the ‘sky is falling’ warnings that politics in Washington will be the end of conservative Talk radio, specifically, and Talk radio in general.
